Or they run a bunch of commercials that successfully generate public interest, and this incentivizes the press to give the title more coverage. Or they take the time to talk to gaming press outside of that. Part of the reason their big games are able to get so much press is because they hold swanky events to show off their games. When I said Ubisoft could get coverage, I didn't mean it would free. especially if it is not a main series title. Also, the evidence seems to say two contrary things: 1) Being supported by a well-known publisher won't necessarily make a game a free-media darling and 2) having a well-known name in your game's title (like Assassin's Creed) won't necessarily guarantee it a lot of free media either. Certainly, a publisher's reputation (and advertisement dollars) are going to get free media to pay attention to them more than most indies. like Sid Meier's Pirates but with these combat systems.ДЄnyway, I think you make a good point. I only enjoyed Black Flag because it was a pirate game actually, and I'd love a game very similar to it that removes all the assassin stuff and focuses entirely on piracy. especially because the main series comes out so often that I stopped playing it after Black Flag because I'm just not that interested.
